Dear People of God,
As we approach the Lenten Season, I invite you to reflect with me on the gospel from Luke 9:35, “This is my Son, my Chosen; listen to him!” How are we to listen to Jesus in this noisy world? As your spiritual guide, I encourage you to walk with me in this path that will prepare us for Eastertide. I have a few practical suggestions:
When you awake in the morning, sit beside your bed and say a prayer of thanksgiving for the gift of life. Smile, and keep things in perspective. Set your priorities for the day. Connect with nature. Take a walk. Attempt to listen to chirping birds amidst adversity. Be aware of yourself and your surroundings.
Lent is a reason for reflection and meditation. Come walk with us. Come worship with us at St. Chad’s. Join us!
Shrove Tuesday – February 16 – Pancake Supper 5:30 pm; Ash Wednesday – February 17 – Disposition of Ashes 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm; Soup Suppers on Wednesday nights during Lent.
Then we will lead to Holy Week: Tuesday, March 30 – Stations of the Cross – 7:00 pm; Maundy Thursday, April 1 – Foot Washing 7:00 pm; Good Friday, April 2 – Holy Communion Liturgy 7:00 pm; Holy Saturday, April 3 – Blessing of a New Fire and Whatsoever – 7:00 pm; Easter Day, April 4 – Sunrise Service – sunrise and Easter Service 9:00 am.
In His Service,
The Rev. Christian Villagomeza, Vicar
