Ministries
Below is just a small list of the Ministries that St. Chad’s supports and our congregation is actively involved in. Please click the Link to our Dioceses, and find out how you can become more involved.
SHARE (Self Help And Resource Exchange)
SHARE is a private, not-for-profit organization that builds and strengthens community through volunteer service. SHARE offers savings on food and medicines. Everyone who volunteers just two hours a month is welcome to participate. There are no income requirements, just a desire to make a positive difference in the world. SHARE sign up is usually the 1st weekend of every month and pick up is usually the fourth Saturday. Join SHARE today.
ECW Episcopal Church Women
Episcopal Church Women are in charge of most of the fundraising here at St. Chad’s. They are in charge of the luncheons, the Fall Bazaar and the Rummage Sale. They offer financial support to the Sarah Howell fund, building projects in the Dominican Republic and sponsor a child in the Compassion program. They collect Christmas gifts for the elderly and disabled in Assisted living Facilities. Please speak with Martha Humbert for more information about the ECW.
Dominican Republic Mission Teams
Every year, four groups take a trip during the summer to the Dominican Republic. They volunteer one week to help build schools, churches and other community service buildings. This year, we have four volunteers from our church attending to build the second floor of the community center for the Centro Buen Pastor Project. Funding and volunteers are needed year-round.
Youth Group
Our youth group is very small but very active. They held lock-ins, visited Gameworks, they fundraised for Meals on Wheels, they visited the Shriner’s Hospital, they hosted breakfasts, they were in a race for Epilepsy Services, visited Islands of Adventure during the summer and will be having a chili cook off at the end of the year. We are always looking for new members.
Sunday School
We offer two different classes. During the normal school year, the classes enjoy a detailed Bible Study with readings and discussions. For the summer, arts and crafts are available. Children have Sunday School every Sunday excluding the fourth Sunday of every month which is our Church School Sunday.
Newcomer’s Ministry
Our Newcomer’s Ministry was designed to make sure you enjoyed your visit with us at St. Chad’s. Please take a moment and fill out the welcome form. If you have any questions regarding our church, please fell free to speak
with one of our volunteers
St. Chad’s Choir
Our hardworking and dedicated choir is a true blessing to our church. We are always looking for new members to join.
Seafarer’s Ministry
St.Chad’s Sefarer’s ministry provides services to sailors at the Tampa Port while they are in dock. The Ministry building offers books, magazines, telephones, snacks, supplies, game room, and a Chapel for services. Sailors can get a ride in town to get what they need by one of the volunteers, and always a friendly ear. Contact us via this site to find out how you can make a difference.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild plays a very important role in the church. They volunteer their time to the set up and the clean up of the altar. More volunteers are always welcome.
